Reasons Behind Sudden Drop In Google Reviews

The sudden drop in Google reviews:
Have you ever noticed a sudden drop in Google reviews? It’s not about getting new reviews but your already written reviews are missing from your page. You might have noticed that the number of reviews is lower as compared to last month.
It might be possible that Google is deleting all of your reviews and might be deleting the 5-star reviews that you have received over the years.
What’s the reason behind this sudden change?
When your Google reviews start dropping then you might feel that people who left the reviews had reviewed only 2 or 3 businesses – that’s why their reviews were deleted.
People don’t understand that the reviews are deleted because they are written by an anonymous user. The best thing about Google reviews is that they will provide you with complete credibility. This is the best feature as it doesn’t allow anonymous review for a service or company.

Why does Google not allow the anonymous feature?
You might be thinking why Google has removed the anonymous review feature? Well, Google has taken the step to increase the credibility of the written reviews. By disabling the anonymous review feature, now people can see exactly who has left the review. In this way, fake reviews will diminish automatically.
How this feature helps you?
Ok, I will explain to you. Suppose a person has created a new Gmail account and leave a one-star review for a certain business. The user has never used the newly created Gmail ID thereafter. If you are facing such a situation then you can report this issue to Google authorities & they will investigate it on your behalf.
In the past, when a person left a review as ‘A Google User’ then it will be termed as an anonymous post.  It does not mean that you will lose all of your reviews, but it will delete the entire fake and spam reviews.

Reviews are just hidden:
You will find this interesting because these reviews aren’t deleted by Google, they are just hidden. Google reviews are still visible in Google My Business profile if the user wants to read the reviews.
Bottom line:
We hereby conclude to the fact that you cannot write review Google reviews as anonymously. Google has made policies to make the review system more credible. We have also learned that your written anonymous reviews will not be deleted but they will be kept hidden by the Google.
